Sam Henderson

Lead pastor, teaching pastor

I have lived in North Mississippi and the Mid-South all my life, I love this place, it’s HOME. In the past 18 years, I have served in ministry roles at several churches, with over 10 of those years involved with church plants. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2010 and studied at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary for 3 years. I am now enrolled at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Applied Theology degree in Preaching. I have been married to my amazing wife Natalie for 9 years and we have 2 sons; Sammy and James. Our family is excited about how the Lord will use us and this church in Coldwater, Mississippi to see gospel transformation.

Vince Carlisle

Associate pastor, teaching pastor

I’ve been married to my wife Alli for 9 years. We have been blessed with 3 children; Kesleigh, Everleigh, and Micah. I’ve grown up in North Mississippi for the majority of my life. I served in youth ministry for several years. We have been privileged to be members at Redeemer Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS for the last 7 years. While there, I served in the worship music ministry, as a small group leader, and as a pastoral resident. We are incredibly excited about the Lord’s work at Redemption Church and seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed in Coldwater!

Biblical Structure of the Local Church

By conviction, we will be an assembly that is a pastor-led, congregationally affirmed, deacon-served church, with believers equipped for gospel work.

Pastor Led

At Redemption Church, we are convinced that the role of Pastor/Elder is one of God’s designed offices for the healthy function of His church. In following God’s design, we will primarily submit and trust the Holy Spirit-empowered wisdom of the Elders in matters of worship, practice, and direction within the church to serve God’s church faithfully and guide her toward health.

(Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:3)

Congregationally Affirmed

The congregation primarily submits to the leadership of the Pastors. The congregation maintains the right and responsibility to affirm and hold the leadership accountable to the Scriptures and wisdom.

(Acts 6:1–6; Revelation 2–3)

Deacon Served

The deacons’ function is to remove specifically non-pastoral responsibilities from the pastors so that the pastors may devote more of their time to the Word, prayer, and equipping of the saints for ministry.

(Acts 6:4)

Members Equipped for Gospel Work

The congregation has responsibility just as the pastors and deacons do. Gospel work is the work of the church, not simply the pastors. Gospel work is the discipleship of our children, bringing the gospel to our neighbor, teaching other believers “everything that Jesus commanded” and participating in their baptism.

(Ephesians 4:12–16)
